We are liberationists. We do not hold to political identities of left vs right, nor do we hold to any system used to oppress the people. We are intent on building sustained liberation for ourselves and all other living things from the global diseases of poverty, legalized enslavement, war, forced displacement, commodified systems of care, profit over people, genocide, enforced assimilation, and more. We believe these diseases come from an intentional separation of people from the land; they create layers of trauma that we carry in our physical and spirit bodies. It is only by returning to the land and our heritage practices that we begin to heal these wounds. Khetanipen Heal is not a place for saviors; "We...do not want to free the people, we want the people to free themselves." Errico Malatesta Only we, both individually and collectively, are able to free ourselves from the trauma of existing within generational cycles of these diseases, even as they continue happening in this moment. We are our own liberators. Only you have the power to liberate yourself. You are the only one who knows where your trauma lives and how to process it. As healers, it is our responsibility to support you in this work, including with education and research. It's up to you to reclaim what belongs to you.
As liberationists, we believe doing the work of solidarity is vital to our practices. Liberation is a communal experience, lived by each organism in our spaces, in their own ways. Solidarity is the same - a collective of people committed to each other and the land, contributing according to their abilities, meeting needs according to their collective resources. This looks different for all things, but part of being our own liberators is recognizing the cooperative systems innate to the human experience. These interdependent cycles of nature are hardwired into our evolution. The very foundations of our beings, molecules and atoms, are created by bonds of shared existence. Mother Earth birthed humanity to exist complementary to the land and natural world. We are nature. And as nature, it is our role to live in abundant harmony with ourselves, individually and communally.
Within us, we hold the combination of all five elements of nature: earth, air, fire, water, ether. Our unique genetic makeup is a result of bonds created, and our physical bodies hold the DNA of bonds that have been traumatized for generations. Moksha-mârga, the path to liberation, restores the bonds that have been harmed or broken within ourselves. Solidarity restores the bonds that have been harmed or broken in relationship with others.
